Workin' Hard is a series of office portraits, collected from various industry websites and business literature, that have been altered. With a phone to their ear, these professionals are photographed “in action” demonstrating reliability and a serious approach to their tasks at hand. I isolated this gesture to consider if such an image carries any substance regarding an individual’s work ethic. Could the perception of diligence overshadow the actual results of skillfully doing a job?

Each portrait is 10 inches by 8 inches. They were printed on my own HP Z2100 printer using archival pigmented inks on satin paper and painted using gesso and several layers of acrylic.
